Hardly Strictly Weekend

Monday, October 9th, 2006

Had a good weekend:

  • Found out that in Zelda: The Minish Cap, only the castle is evil after you get the 4 elements, not the rest of the town, so I still got to run around and do a bunch of the side quests. Sweet!
  • I had some free time on Saturday while Enzo was being groomed, so I drove up to Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno and took some photos. Not particularly happy with any of them except the panorama, though.
  • Found a new dog walker for Enzo, and they had their first walk on Sunday, which went really well. Even Enzo can make new friends!
  • Spent Sunday afternoon with Amanda and Rahul at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, which is a free annual bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park. It was fun, albeit crowded, and the Blue Angels flew overhead a few times, which was neat. The weather was also mysteriously beautiful, which was…mysterious.

Edit: Here’s a picture of Enzo that his new dog walker took, and OMGMYDOGHASTHEBIGGESTHEADEVER!!

Happy Birfdays!

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Justin and Rahul a Happy Happy Birthday. Yar got to me first, so I was unfortunately only able to attend Rahul’s birthday party. We had dinner at Park Chow, which was pretty good. I had a meatball sandwich, shared a spinach salad, and finished with the ginger cake, which was good, but not the “ten thumbs up” that John claimed.

This weekend was pretty relaxed, which was nice. I bought a new game for myself (well, new to me): Zelda: The Minish Cap. It’s basically like all Zelda games, which means it’s fun and satisfying. I also busted out my Game Boy Player, which is a sweet Game Cube peripheral that lets you play GBA games through your Game Cube, so you can play them on the TV. Sweet!

I was pretty sad to hear of Steve Irwin’s death yesterday. He was a arguably a total nut, but it was amazing to see someone so passionate about what he did. Hopefully we can all find work in something we love so much.

Happy 2004!

Thursday, January 1st, 2004

Howdy y’all. It’s been a couple weeks since this site was updated. I spent a week at home with my sister, and the days were filled with frenzied shopping, good food, reading O.C. recaps (it’s just like you’re watching the show!), and lots and lots of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. And lots. We also visited a couple of the monuments, including the Korean War Veterans Memorial, which was very eerie, and probably one of the more anti-war war monuments I’ve ever seen.

Afterwards, we all headed up to New York City, aka The Land of a Thousand Starbucks. My parents and I went on a couple walking tours, where we learned, among other things, that Washington Square is full of morbidly obese squirrels, with a disturbing lack of fear of humans. I also spent some time playing with Arthur’s crazy dog Sophie. My sister and I spent New Year’s Eve at her friend Eric’s apartment, where he made us tapas and four (four!) kinds of desserts, including homemade truffles. Who the hell makes homemade truffles? Eric, aparently. I also saw RotK again with my dad and brother. It was still good the second time, though the ending was still very, very long.

Anyway, work starts again on Monday. I hope I still remember how to turn on my computer.
