RODRIGO Y GABRIELA
Last night I went to see Rodrigo and Gabriela play at The Fillmore (bringing my Fillmore poster collection up to 6.) I had only heard one song of theirs before going to the concert, but I have a couple friends who absolutely love them, so I decided to check them out. To my uninitiated ear, a lot of their songs sounded the same, but there's no denying their talent. I especially liked their acoustic Metallica covers, and Gabriela's crazy guitar-as-percussion-instrument playing. Despite the frequent calls of "RODRIIIGOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" and "TE QUIERO GABRIEEELLLAAAAAAA!!!!!" from the audience, I had a great time.

You saw them last night? I saw them this afternoon! They did say that they were quite tired from all the traveling. Never heard of them till I saw your blog. I thought the same as you - amazing playing, but a little too long and too much the same. Guess who else I saw this wknd? Ozomatli. :) They played the classics. NYC free summer concerts. Sorry to have missed you in NY. I will be in Cali tomorrow through next Monday so we should hang out. Sorry, this is more a letter than a comment!
