P-O-P-C-O-R-N

Yesterday on the way to lunch, Buddy and I were talking about how in movies and television shows, people are always calling that number that says "At the tone, the time will be [blah]. *beep*" but that we'd never heard of a number that actually does that. However, Erik told us that if you call "POPCORN", i.e. 767-2676, you'll hear that message. Incredulous, Buddy pulled out his phone and tried it. To our surprise, it worked! Try it out!

Edit: It turns out that POP-XXXX (where XXXX is any four numbers) works! Try it out! Thanks to Buddy for the updated info.

Also, Matt sent me this link about a high school grad who was posing as a Stanford student for an entire year. After you get past the hilarity of the whole situation, it's actually kind of sad that this girl (who obviously has some serious mental problems), apparently felt the need to tell her friend and family that she had been accepted into Stanford, when she hadn't. Goooo Asian parents! Seriousness aside, I think her "roommate" is gonna get a-whippin' when she goes home for Christmas:

"Still, Kim had neither a Stanford ID nor a key, forcing her to sneak into meals and enter her room through its window, which overlooked the Munger construction pit, the Wilbur parking lot and a dumpster, three feet off the ground. Zhou never noticed, as she spent nearly all her nights in her boyfriend’s room."

Haha.

My dad & I used to dial popcorn when I was a wee little kid and be amused by it too! :)

As for the Daily article -- OMG?!?
