8 LETTERS: NERDY BUT ENJOYABLE MOVIE
This weekend I saw Wordplay, a documentary about crossword puzzles. As terribly nerdy as that sounds (and believe me, there were some nerdy people in the movie), it was actually really good. Two Shas up. That being said, does anyone know any good sites for free online crossword puzzles? I don't hope to solve the Sunday New York Times in 10 minutes like these people do, but I do enjoy a good puzzle every now and then.

+++++
After seeing Wordplay I didn't go looking for free online puzzles, but I signed up for the New York Times' crossword service. It's $35 a year (something like $7 to try it out for a month), and since then I've entertained myself by going back through their archives and doing Monday and Tuesday crosswords. The Monday ones I think I can do in 10-15 minutes (usually with a few letters wrong), and the Tuesday ones I can usually do most of. Wednesdays are harder. And I tried this past Sunday's puzzle. That wasn't pretty....
Eric: thanks for the advice! I signed up for the yearly subscription to the New York Times puzzles and have been amusing myself with them. Like you, I can usually do the Monday ones with a couple letters wrong, most of the Tuesday, and the occasional Wednesday.
Maybe sometime we can try the "Play with a friend" thing on the website. :)
