MEMOIRS OF A SHA SHA
Long time no see, friends. I wish I had interesting news to report, but the more likely scenario is that I've been in a boredom-induced stupor for the past few weeks, drooling too much to bother to post anything here. My days and weeks are starting to blend into one another, so I'm having a hard time organizing things into a discernable timeline in my head. Instead, here is a random sampling of the activities I've been participating in for the past couple weeks.
- I've been rock climbing a lot, which is good. I do mostly 5.9s now, which is a step up from the 5.7s I started on. I can also do 90% of a pull-up now (Buddy calls it a nose-up) which is rather exciting news.
- Sunday sports are a weekly ritual now. I meet in the park with friends and we play several sports: basketball, football, ultimate, soccer, or volleyball. I don't suck nearly as much at volleyball. In fact, May Ling said yesterday that my passes were "superb." Woo!
- Wednesday nights are Lost nights, when Brendan, Matt and I shamelessly take over Peter and Justin's TV, eat their snacks, and take their drinks. Good times.
- Saw a few movies: Wallace and Gromit, which I liked a lot, especially the picture of baby gromit. Also saw A History of Violence which was good, but, uh, violent. Finally, used one of my free movie tickets on Flightplan, which was not as bad as the reviews would suggest, but not exactly Best Movie Ever, either.
- Before Flightplan they showed the trailer for Memoirs of a Geisha. Now are you telling me that they couldn't find any Japanese actresses to play the leads? I'm as fond of Zhang Zi Yi as the next person, but seeing a geisha speak English with a Chinese accent is just a little bizarre.
- Beat X-Men Legends II with Buddy and Marc. Take that, Rahul!
- Check out Nathaniel's newly-redesigned photos page. Since he got his new camera, he's been Mr. Photo-Posting-Person-Man.
Edit: I forgot to add this: Shining. This is a trailer for "The Shining" redone to make the movie look like a feel-good family romp. One of the funniest things I've seen in a long, long time. Others: West Side Story as a zombie movie, and Cabin Fever as a tear-jerker.
