YOU KAHN DO IT!
This weekend my buddy Kahn visited me all the way from New York. I met Kahn several years ago through a friend when I visted her in college. He arrived Thursday evening so we had a quick dinner and just hung out. Friday I had to work (despite my delusional belief earlier in the week that I would be able to take the day off) so Kahn took my car and explored the area. Saturday morning we had a nice brunch with Domi and May Ling and Florence, complete with an impromptu yoga session (don't ask.) In the afternoon Kahn and I went to the SF MoMA and saw a lot of very M MA, including a piece that consisted of a single pencil line on a paper, titled "Drawing with One Line." Erm. Later we met Yar, Jan, and Yar's friend Dana for dinner at the always-excellent Ti Couz (check out the Block-View pic of it). Sunday we met Cheryl for dim sum at the Great Mall (where I tried on some new shoes)and saw Hustle and Flow, which was pretty good. In the evening we joined Jess, Buddy, Marc, and Eugene for dinner and the jazz show at Yoshi's. It was my first time there, and although the sushi was nothing to write home about, the jazz was excellent. And we even survived scary scary Oakland.
The next day or so was filled with mostly work, hanging out with Kahn, and watching Ultimate Fighting and bodybuilding in HD. Ew. As a thank-you for letting him stay wtih me, he gave me Kung Fu Hustle, a bouquet of flowers, and even vacuumed my apartment! Future house guests take note.
It was really nice having him here, and I think this may bring the number of our face-to-face meetings up to 5.
Tuesday night I went rock climbing for the second time. I did three 5.7s and two 5.8s! Woo! If I keep up this weekly climbing, I may opt for a monthly membership to save a lil' bit of cash money.
Finally, in most exciting of news: check it out!
