HIJACK
I've noticed recently that recently, many websites (okay, not the websites themselves, but the people who run them) have somehow figured out how to hijack Google search results, filling my web browser with piles upon piles of crap, when I'm actually trying to find useful information. I first noticed this when I was looking up information about my cell phone. Go to Google and type in any search query with a cell phone model in it, and chances are you'll be rewarded with a whole bunch of pages that claim to have info on your phone, but are really huge pages filled with crap and pop-up ads.
And it peeeeesses me off.
Lilly, fix it!!!

What are these "pop up ads" of which you speak? My computer doesn't seem to have anything like that. :)
Try running AdAware to remove sneaky programs from your computer.
I'm working on fixing it right now. I'm developing PsychicRank(tm). It psychically detects your desired result, semantically parses the page, and gives you the most relevant result. Shh. Don't tell.
