BUFFY, BUFFY, BUFFY!
I started playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds the other day. I had heard a lot of good things about this last one, so I had pretty high expectations of the sequel. It's an okay game, but it suffers from a lot of control problems. For example, you're not allowed to bail out of combo moves, so if you miss an enemy, you're stuck for about 5 seconds finishing your super-cool combo while your enemy attacks you from behind. Also, it's difficult to find the right position to pick up items and perform actions, which led to me being stuck on a level for a long time because I thought I couldn't pick up an item, when I was really just not in the exact right spot to pick it up. But other than those things, it's a fine game.
The most annoying thing is that they didn't get the original actress to do Willow's voice. They also didn't get Buffy's voice, but the woman who does her voice in the game does a pretty good job, unlike the woman who does Willow's. As I was playing, I realized that Willow's voice reminded me of someone, but I couldn't quite place it. After a while, it dawned on me that she sounded exactly like the girl who played Jan Brady in the Brady Bunch movie -- very breathy and kind of stoned. Unfortunately, IMDb proved me wrong, but I'm still holding out for the level where Buffy gets hit in the face with a football.
