HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

As the title suggests, today is my Dad's birthday, and we're taking him out to a nice Italian restaurant to celebrate.

Not much has been going on in the past few days. We went to see "Catch Me If You Can" last night which I enjoyed, despite the fact that it stars one Leonardo DiCaprio. I also ate way too much popcorn.

After the movie, I was petting Wendy when I noticed her fur was clumped up around her shoulder. After some investigation (and some horror at the thought that it might be a clump of poo in her fur,) we discovered that she had a 3/4"-gash in her shoulder, which had lots of dried blood around it. It was late at night, so we cleaned it up as best we could (with my sister the doctor-in-training at the helm) and left it alone. This morning when we took her to the vet, the vet said it was definitely a dog bite. So she gave us some antibiotics for Wendy to take, and told us to wash the bite out with hydrogen peroxide twice a day. All this, of course, leaves the question of who bit Wendy. We suspect it might have been Arthur's dog Sophie, or it also could have been one of the dogs at the kennel Wendy was boarded at while my parents were out of town. We may never know. Nonetheless, we're glad to have it taken care of, and hopefully Wendy should be as good as old (she's 12) in about two weeks.
