Movin’ on up

February 21st, 2009

…to…Eureka Valley? Signed a lease for a new apartment last night. It’s smaller, but MUCH nicer than the current apartment, and for everyone who’s asked, yes, Virginia, there will be a housewarming party. And you’re all invited! Except you. No, to the left. Yeah, you. Sorry.

To prep for the move, there has been an explosion of cleaning in the house, and I briefly (okay, it wasn’t very brief) panicked when I found a HUGE spider in my file box that I thought might be a black widow. I managed to catch it in one of Sha Sha Chu’s patented Magical Spider Catchers (i.e. a plastic salsa container), and after some googling, found out it was a triangulate cobweb spider, or ‘false widow’. After snapping a few pics of it, we released it into the backyard, probably to have it return tomorrow and lay thousands of eggs in my eyeballs.

    Grats fellow home owner :)

  2. I can only assume you will join us in our Wednesday night Drinks Club since you’ll be living in the area.

@Dan: Oh, no, this is just a rental. No homebuying for me in the near future.

@Josh: This, of course, would assume that you and I stop eating dinner at work. :)

Yikes. Scary. What is it with you and spiders? I seem to remember some big ones in Mtn View.

I that that was a beautiful oscar speech too. I was impressed that he appeared to still believe in God and a loving God and wasn’t turned off from spirituality because of the church.

Yeah, I did have a run-in with a big one in Mountain View, too. It made a big web in my living room!

And yes, his speech was definitely the highlight of the night for me. Such simple but powerful words.
