This morning, for the first time ever, I put regular gas in my car (I usually put premium.) The Arco near my house was $3.37 for premium, and the Shell and Chevron on the same corner were both $3.45, and the thought of paying that much for gas made me sad. Nonetheless, I am wracked by guilt, even though I can’t get a conclusive answer about whether or not premium is a scam or a necessary part of car care. I hope my car doesn’t blow up.
