This weekend my friend’s threw me a Super Sekret Surprise Birthday Bash. Saturday morning I was originally planning on going running with Babs, Buddy, and Kevin. Because of the rain, we cancelled the run and I went to Hobee’s with Babs and Buddy. Afterwards we made a quick pearl milk tea stop and headed back to Babs’ to watch
Using Buddy’s phat GPS system, we were headed to Palo Alto, when Babs made a quick turn into Palo Alto Bowl. Hmm… suspicious indeed. As we were pulling in, I saw a car that looked just like Rahul’s. Wait, no, it was Rahul’s. A little confused, I followed them into the bowling alley and lo and behold, all my friends were there. Yay! So we bowled a couple games (Camila totally kicked ass) and then headed to Peter’s for food ‘n’ cake.
I was surprised, but I did have inklings that something might be going on. Earlier in the week I had e-mail most of the people present asking if anyone wanted to go to Monterey on Saturday, and almost nobody responded. (Jan responded, but it was apparently in a panic.) So I figured that a) my friends hate me or b) they were planning something. I’m glad it turned out to be option b).
So thank you to everyone who attended, especially those of you sneaky kids who planned it out. I have the bestest friends ever.
The next day I did end up going to Monterey with Brendan, Diane, Jan, Yar, Kurtis, and Rahul, and saw the Great White Shark. She was smaller than I anticipated, but still very cool. I also accomplished my other two Monterey goals: eating clam chowder in a bread bowl and getting cotton candy. I like to set low expectations for myself.
Finally, in other exciting news, a woman at work gave me her Palm m130 for free! I recently have been forgetting a lot of things, so I asked around at work if anyone had an old Palm they wanted to get rid of for cheap. And nothing’s cheaper than free! Last night I stayed up late putting everyone’s phone numbers into it. Woo!
Edit: Also, do any of you have a PSP? If so, I wanna see it! My cube-neighbor bought one this morning but he’s not opening it because he’s thinking of selling it on ebay.
Edit 2: I saw Robots last night. It was okay, but forgettable. (As evidenced by the fact that I forgot to mention it here.)
