So we had a small earthquake around here today. I was wide awake and helping someone install his ethernet card, but I didn’t feel a thing. How disappointing.

Tuesday, February 13th, 2001Conversation last night while trying to wake up Mariel at approximately 2:30 am:
Sha: Mariel, wake up! You need to wake up now.
Mariel: I understand.
Sha: You understand? Then why don’t you wake up? Get up!
Mariel: [Groans.]
Sha: Mariel! You were supposed to get up an hour ago!
Mariel: Can’t I just take the picture and bring it to class?
Sha: Huh? What picture?
Mariel: Isn’t there a picture of me studying?
Sha: ???
Mariel: Ha ha ha….what?
